Maine seafood gone bad...

October 4
Today we woke up and headed out to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Apparently the thing to do when in New Hampshire is go to the Gorge and hike around in it. We didn’t actually stop there to hike because it was rainy, but we did stop at a bunch of different places along the way through the White Mountains and it was absolutely beautiful! The leaves were changing colors and the scenery was magnificent driving through the hills, mountains and through all the beautiful trees. We loved the White Mountains and would love to go back through some time to go hiking along the streams!  This is another place I would highly recommend!
We continued on our way and headed to Portland, Maine. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t cooperating very well so we didn’t walk around the town much but we did drive through quite a bit of it. We ended up stopping off at a restaurant called Susan’s Fish and Chips to get some of Maine’s best seafood. AND… if that is what you are looking for, I would not suggest going there. The reviews raved about this place, and it was good, but it was all fried and not fresh and didn’t leave our stomachs feeling very happy; so we didn’t quite get the local “best” that we were expecting.

The stream that flowed throughout the woods where we walked

Ben tried to throw me into the water well as I was holding the camera. He told me to take a picture before I got wet and this is what was shot!

Yea, he's a stud:)

We were so close, so we decided to stop in Vermont and add another state to our list!

Our first attempt at eating Maine's fresh fish was at this restaurant

Not quite the fresh we were expecting! :)
