The Story of us...

This is us snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef!
Ben and I met while studying abroad in Australia during our sophomore year in college. Ben was going to Azusa Pacific in California, which is where he was born and raise, and I was going to Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota. We met on February 16th, 2009 in the LAX airport waiting for our plain to depart to Sydney Australia. We became really good friends in Australia and went on all sorts of different adventures with a group of us that got really close during that time.

Everyone asks if there was something between us during our trip in Australia... we honestly tell them there wasn't. We just got to know each other as friends. I was dating someone else at the time and there were no "romantic feelings" between Ben and I until a few months after our trip ended. The Lord paved the way and knew exactly what he was doing and had perfect timing...

Who could resist this smile??

We didnt actually start dating until 6 months after we returned back to the United States. We had a reunion in Chicago, Illinois for New Years Eve and it was in January 2010 when we started talking on the phone and dating long distance.

Ben flew me out to California for spring break in March 2010. I met his family and it was then that he asked me to "officially" be his girlfriend! He had his friends hike a mountain with a table and chairs before us and we went for what I thought was just a hike, but there turned out to be a fancy dinner, dessert and music at the top! His friends even role played and acted as our servers... what great friends he has!!  Ben asked me to be his girlfriend as the sun was setting.

Ben and I got married on June 4, 2011 in Eden Prairie, MN

And since getting married Ben and I have been traveling all over the country for work. Ben is a insurance Adjuster for Catastrophes, so in the first year and a half of our marriage we were in 42 different states for work! We moved to Riverside, California in August 2013 for a Resident Director position for me at California Baptist University, and we were there for 2 years. Now we are back on the road, we sold our cars and bought a BIG truck, and a fifth wheel trailer. We are living in our fifth wheel and traveling across the country for Ben's job. It is a crazy job, but it allows us to see the country, and spend time with family and friends when we are not working! It has been such a fun adventure so far! And the best news of all is... Ben and I are expecting our first baby this August 2014! We could not be more thrilled!
