OUR BABY BOY IS 6 MONTHS OLD!: HAPPY HALF BIRTHDAY LITTLE ONE!

Jedidiah, you are six months old already and you are a mother's dream come true. At 6 months you are 15.4 lbs, 26 inches long and still quite small for your age. You are still wearing some of your 3 month clothes, but have moved into some 6 month things as well. You're in the 10th% for weight and 76th% for head size:) You got your daddy's head! We love every part of you. We love that the past 6 months have been more rich and full of joy, much more than we could have ever expected! I have been surprised that our life has not been put on hold or stopped being "normal" since adding you to our family. You continue to allow us to do the things we love and did before, we just get to bring you along for the adventure now, and we love sharing our adventures with you!  Thank you for being so flexible with our crazy run-around-all-the-time- schedule! There is no "normal" for you, not much routine, many constant changes and new beds, new people, new experiences and no real "nap time". Though I have craved that at times and wished for a bit of "normalcy", you have done so well and have been so gracious to allow life to be what it is. You are such a little trooper and have put up with quite a bit of craziness in your little lifetime!
Here are some beautiful things about you in this 6th month of life: You smile all the time! You absolutely LOVE when your dad or mom walks into the room, you show the excitement with your whole body. You think your daddy is hilarious, you love your dog Sadie, in fact you maybe love her a little too much... you open your mouth EVERY time she comes over to lick your face... it's pretty gross to watch her lick INSIDE of your mouth, but no matter how many times we tell you both "no", it continues to happen and you both love it.  You hate being left alone... you will stare at me and scream with a look that says, "how could you leave me over here all by myself??" until I come pick you up. You look when we call your name, you sit up all on your own but sometimes you topple over so we are always close by to help you stay up, you have managed to live 6 months without 1 single injury, you have had three colds, you tried your first foods on Saturday, February 7th, one day before your 6 month birthday. So far you love squash and sweet potatoes and you dislike green beans (I dont blame you). You cant keep your hands and toys and any other object out of your mouth, you keep great eye contact and have no problem giving strangers smiles when they look at you, you are starting to crawl and slowly but surely you are making it happen. You roll all over the place, you sleep on your side, you are interested in anything and EVERYTHING... so much so that you dont really like taking naps (I'm beginning to think you have a fear of missing out). If you hear a noise while eating you HAVE to turn to look to see what it is, then you sit and watch it for 30 seconds and you are always so interested in whatever it is. You are very calm and relaxed, almost always content to just enjoy the day. You remind me to take a breath and just enjoy the little things in life. You are a lover of everyone, a people person, and a joy to many. You aren't doing a very good job at solidifying your spot as a spoiled only child...you make us want to give you more brothers and sisters. You sleep from about 8:30pm-7:30am, but are often still enjoying two feedings in the night around 11:30pm and 4am, we are trying to break you of that. You still love your car seat, but hate getting into it. You still aren't sure about your bath time. Your smiles and giggles make any day brighter and make the world a better place. I could stare at your big, bright brown eyes for hours! You are a blessing, a joy, the sweetest and most precious thing that has ever happened to us! You are the greatest gift God has given to mommy and daddy and we couldnt imagine life without you! We just dedicated you to the Lord in front of church on Sunday, February 15th and it is our prayer that God continues to teach us how to raise you up to love Him and live for Him. God is faithful and we thank Him every single day for you.

Jed, you are everything to mommy and daddy, we love you!

Happy Half Birthday our sweet little love!!!
