The Ladd Wedding: Tour Harbors Minnesota

The second week in Minnesota got a little busier because we were preparing for my older sister Brianna’s wedding. Her and her husband Stephen got married in Two Harbors, which is about 3 hours North of my house in Eden Prairie, (and only 1 hour from Duluth, MN, which is where Ben and I got engaged!) They got married at a BEAUTIFUL lodge right on Lake Superior.  We headed up there on Thursday morning with the cars loaded and everything packed. We rented a house right on the lake with my family and the Norell family, they are close family friends of my parents. We spent quite a bit of time just hanging out in the house with family and friends, and playing games.

The first morning we were there, Ben and I woke up and walked down to the lake to explore (it’s quite a bit colder up North right on the lake than Ben is used to, so he got made fun of quite a bit for his thin California skin!) then headed over to the lodge where the wedding was going to be held. We were informed that there was a bike rental, so we headed back to the house and got my dad and brother and headed out to Goosebury Falls for a bike ride through the trails!

Ben is all ready and is trying out the bike to make sure it works before the ride

Notice how my dad and Ben make the same silly face when I say I'm going to take a picture of them!

Hmm... "should we stop and ask for directions??" Trying to figure out which way to go

The wedding was on Saturday, October 22 and it was absolutely beautiful! They could not have picked a more perfect day! We were pretty nervous because an outside wedding in Two Harbors in October could mean ANY kind of weather. The Lord blessed them with a perfect sunny and semi-warm day and we were all so thankful! They were married by my uncle Mike Lynch and the reception and dance followed. It was a great time catching up with more family and friends.

Cayden has had too much dancing! How cute:)

My brother and dad walked Brianna down the isle... Such a precious and emotional moment

We woke up on Sunday morning, had brunch with the bride and groom while they opened gifts and then headed back to Eden Prairie. A normally 3 hour long drive took 6 hours because of construction, so it was a long drive home! Unfortunately, we didn’t make it home in time to WATCH the Minnesota Vikings, so, in high hopes we listened to them on the radio as we sat in stop and go traffic; only to have our hearts broken once again by their loss!
