"Nothing Better than a day on the Lake...." (Gene Kounse) I have to agree! Saturday afternoon we got a call from Uncle Gene inviting us to come out on a boat ride with him... how can you say no to that?? So of course we went and enjoyed spending time with Gene out on the lake.
After we got back we had to try out our brand new kayak... so we got it all ready and hauled it down to the lake. Did I mention how heavy it was?? AND the fact that it felt like we had to walk 100 miles with the heavy kayak to get to the lake since the water is so low?? And did I mention that it was one of those days where Heather was not in a very good mood and didnt enjoy slip sliding all over the mud with a heavy kayak??? Well, it was all of the above! But did I also mention that the lake was perfect, the weather AMAZING, and my rowing partner was SUPER good looking and fun to be with (despite HIS crabby rowing partner!!)?!?.... well that was also very true! So overall it was a MOSTLY successful and fun adventure. Word to the wise: I would suggest TWO single kayaks to ONE double! Save yourself the back ache because the double seater is a BEAST to carry!
